Remake of ‘Don’t be Afraid of the Dark’ confirmed!

Don't Be Afraid Of The Dark

Hell Boy 2 director, Guillermo del Toro and Mirmax will be joining hands for remake of the 1973 made-for-television horror film Don’t Be Afraid Of The Dark.

Comic book artist-writer Troy Nixey will make his feature directorial debut with the adaptation of ABC’s 1973 chiller, which gained a cult following through syndication and home video release. (It is known as “Nightmare” in Europe.)

The plot revolves around a young girl, sent to live with her father and his new girlfriend and discovers sinister creatures that live underneath the stairs.

The film is in its early stages; research and development of the monsters hasn’t begun yet, and other producers might come aboard.

I thought Del Toro was doing the Hobbit
any news on that, I’ve heard hey are thinking of James “Wesley Gibson” McAvory
for the role of Bilbo Baggins

  2. Summer Says:

Toro’s still ‘doing’ the hobbit ;) and Martin Freeman (The Hitchiker’s Guide to the Galaxy) will be Bilbo Baggins most probably.

  3. Steven Says:

I know I’m going to love anything that has the del Toro stamp on it.
